It was a battle royale on Lou Dobbs last night, when Reps. Michele Bachmann and Barney Frank discussed Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Bachmann insists ACORN should no longer receive federal funding because a member has been investigated for electoral fraud. Frank disagrees — and that’s putting it lightly. Frank, a Democrat from Massachusetts, points out that the Bush administration gave the group $13 million. Bachmann, a Republican who hails from Minnesota, says she’s “concerned about the eligibility criteria” for such groups and says Congress has a “fiduciary responsibility to set the bar very high for organization” that receives federal dollars.

Frank bites back by pointing out that the Republicans did nothing during their Congressional reign, “Where were the Republicans when George Bush was giving the ACORN housing counseling entity millions of dollars?”
